I have always wanted to be an actor since an early age.  I have a very supportive family that has always kept me grounded, and busy in the Arts community.

What's your favorite movie? What do you love about it ?
One of my favorite childhood movies was Home Alone, but I really love Last Dragon.  Everything about it was cool from the fight scenes, the music, and the storyline.  Me and my brothers used to pick out the characters the we would want to be and act out the scenes.

What's your favorite project that you've ever done? Why?
One of my favorite projects that I've worked on was Dreamgirls.  I played Curtis.  We literally had to put the show together in two weeks.  It was a lot of pressure, but when their is an audience, and lights hitting the stage you have to trust that you have done the work to give and amazing show.

What's your dream role? Why?
I don't really have a dream role, but when it comes I'll know.

How did you get to NYC?
A rented Ryder truck.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I want to be an artist -- but I think just because I loved Snoopy.

What's your favorite movie? What do you love about it ?
YIKES!!!!!!!!!!! That is *such* a hard question!!

I am going to  go with ‘Valley of the Dolls’. What is *not* to like about this movie!! One of my favorite scenes happens at the end of the film. Barbara Perkins' character, Anne Welles, walks off and leaves her man…toward independence…...toward freedom and autonomy....toward knowing herself....leaving the house and ….and walks through the woods …the theme song plays…..BUT…the house she leaves is..... hers?!! AND she leaves the door open!!!

NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

What's your favorite TV show? What do you love about it?
Ok, this time I am going to have to go with my first ever favorite tv show----The Monkees. It played in re-runs on a local channel growing up – channel 56.  Also, my mother’s friend was in their official fan club and had their trading cards. She gave me all of her Monkees paraphernalia.  I remember bringing an autographed picture of The Monkees to show and tell in the first grade.  I wanted to be in the band and live on the beach as a Monkee. The first album I ever bought was The Monkees greatest hits – purchased at local store --Mars bargain land in Hudson MA!

What's your favorite role that you've played? Why?
My favorite role I ever played was Juliet in that play called, ‘Romeo & Juliet’. It was a school production but it was the first time I ever did anything like that. I was a very shy kid and it really opened up new worlds to me.

What's your favorite project that you've ever done? Why?
My favorite project is always the one I am currently working on. It is so fun to create and be creative. I think I just love the process.

What's your dream role? Why?
My dream role is MOD MARYKATE!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel kind of like Mary Tyler Moore …how great is it to get to use your own name and be in a part that was written with you in mind!?!!!!!!!!!!

What's your dream project? Why?

My dream project is to be in Atomic Annie ---but I think there should be nonsensical music/chase scenes..where Mod Marykate and the band plays…..

Ok, guilty! I just inserted a scene from the Monkees into Atomic Annie!

What drew you to Atomic Annie?
I was contacted by our director, Michael Anderson, to work with him on a new project he was developing. I immediately just said YES because Michael is so great ---even without knowing anything about it! When I did find out more about it, it was as great of an idea as I knew it would be! The Avengers meets Buckaroo Banzai –a neo pulp extravaganza --- HELLO?!!

What other projects are you working on?

Right now I am in the process of writing for a new record. I think it will be an EP? I am working on it with Jill Sobule and Brad Jones. I am also busy painting these days. This week I have shipped off and finished three paintings!!!!! Exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Jill, Brad and I are scheming up ways to combine the two mko projects.

Here are some new paintings: www.marykateoneil.com

What's your hometown?

Boston

How did you get to NYC?

I came for a meeting when I was a fashion stylist and rented an apartment in Greenwich Village on a lark.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A million different things, all living on a cloud of art.

What's your favorite movie? What do you love about it ?

Nebraska, Cake, The Piano, Never on a Sunday, The Godfather, Birdman (not necessarily in that order). Art direction and photography are extremely important to me, as is a 'real' performance. If I no longer feel like I am watching but instead I am there, I'm into it.

What's your favorite TV show? What do you love about it?

An Honorable Woman, House of Cards, Amy Schumer...I'm not so big on watching t.v.

What's your favorite role that you've played? Why?

I enjoyed them all. It's a trip to somewhere new.

What's your favorite project that you've ever done? Why?

I loved any project in which I played with nice peeps.

What's your dream role? Why?

A woman my age, a survivor of a tough life.

What's your dream project? Why?

My plays becoming films! I'm working with a producer right now.

What drew you to Atomic Annie?

I luv mike. For real. He is a unique knucklehead!

What other projects are you working on?

I'm in a short called The Gift with Douglas Smith. I play Christine Evangelista's mom, and it just played the Northside Festival in Williamsburg. I'm working on a staged reading of my new play "Grand Concourse Radio" written for Joe Perrino and Joe Sikora. I am also continuing to decorate the interiors of a historical home in the Hudson River Valley and working on a new photography project...I am artistically greedy!

Cast Spotlight: Madeline Lewis

Madeleine will be playing Lara Emerson, Atomic Annie's country cousin.

How did you get to NYC?
Went to college at NYU for Drama at the Atlantic Theater Studio and the Stonestreet Film Studio.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
An actress! That way I could be everything!

What's your favorite movie? What do you love about it ?
My newest favorite movie is "Mad Max: Fury Road" I also love "Alien" and "Spirited Away"
Anything with action, adventure, and a great female lead - I'm sold.

What's your favorite TV show? What do you love about it?
Have to say "Game of Thrones" because it combines my love of high fantasy with gritty historical realism. Plus amazing, varied, and fully developed characters that always face the consequences of their actions in incredibly surprising ways.

What's your favorite project that you've ever done? Why?
Ha, well I've done a lot of very fun film and stage work... but my favorite is probably still working at the New York Renaissance Faire. Total character creation and improvisation with thousands of people a day, all while living in a make believe village alongside very real craftsmen and sword fighters. It was a great break from city life, and who doesn't love speaking in "thee"s and "thou"s?

What's your dream role? Why?
I'd love to be part of a scifi/fantasy series like Star Trek, Xena, Buffy, the kind of shows I loved growing up. To have a fun character that gets to go on amazing adventures, heck that's what I try to do in real life too!

What drew you to Atomic Annie?
Ha ha, see my "dream role" above! I saw the script for Atomic Annie and knew there was nothing else like it. It's fun, exciting, and has all the elements of my favorite Joss Whedon creations! I especially love Lara as a character because she somewhat represents the audience's perspective. She's this rural girl who finds herself in this crazy world of mad scientists and odd doctors, where she is completely in over her head, but it's just so much fun she can't help but be swept up in the excitement of it! She's the only one who doesn't have a nickname yet, so I'm thrilled to find out what it will be and how (or if) she earns it...
